Let's now look at some realistic ways we can experience God's presence in our lives right now. The most important thing in all of this is that we make a personal effort to seek out the God who longs to connect with us today and play a significant role in our lives.
In the same way that we might intentionally spend time pursuing a friendship or a relationship with a potential spouse, we also need to do the same with God. The Holy Spirit is ready to accept our invitation to come into our hearts and minds and to communicate with us through our desires and thoughts. Keep in mind that we have access to the same power of resurrection that enabled Christ to be raised from the dead. However, we must actively seek out the Holy Spirit and invite him into our lives before it happens.
1. He is constantly on our minds. Through his quiet work in our heart and mind, the Holy Spirit of God is with us as we go about our day in a manner of "holy silence." When we are conscious of that, it affects every activity and aspect of our lives.
2 - We constantly look to him for direction. God has a preference in what kinds of things we decide to do because he is interested in every aspect of our lives. We can ask through prayer, so we should ask right away! Asking God for clarification physically and verbally will help to make the conversation more real. If we need to, we ought to speak aloud. Then we must pay attention for his responses, whether they are provided by the people he places in our lives or by our own quiet intuition for what is right.
3. He must be regarded as a constant companion. We never have to wonder where he is or how he feels about us when we are constantly aware of his presence. Listen! He is ready to engage us in conversation about every aspect of our lives. When God gives us the impression that he is guiding us, those revelations occasionally come to us in unexpected ways. We are conscious of the physical presence of those around us; similarly, we can and ought to be conscious of the presence of God. All of those who trust and believe in the most mighty, loving being in the universe want this for them.
4 - Everything is seen in the context of his presence. Everything that occurs in our lives must do so in God's presence. The fact that nothing is hidden from God, whether good or bad, has an impact on every aspect of life. Everything we do throughout the course of the day takes on a different hue as we actively seek out his guidance and sense his presence. Though intimidating, this is a wonderful reality for anyone who wants to walk in God's footsteps.
5 - Despite the storms, there is peace. No matter what is happening in our lives, we have the assurance that God is there and with us. The Holy Spirit of God will lead and direct us in all circumstances. When we pursue and cultivate this awareness, everything changes.
